New Stadium Security Policies Announced

Texas Tech Athletics has announced new security measures for Jones AT&T Stadium that will go into effect immediately.

Texas Tech and the Big 12 Conference are increasing stadium security around the league due to concerns over recent events and the conference policy of making each stadium as safe and secure as possible. The following changes will be made beginning with the Kansas State game this weekend.

  • Effectively immediately, the screening of individuals and their possessions when entering Jones AT&T Stadium will be more stringent than in past games.
  • BAGS, BACKPACKS and/or similar items will not be allowed inside the Stadium.
  • Only small purses and diaper bags (with small child) will be allowed inside the stadium and will be thoroughly inspected prior to entry into the stadium.
  • Exceptions to the above changes will be handled on a case by case basis by Uniformed Officers.
  • The Stadium Pass-Out/Reentry policy will be available after the first quarter has begun. Items may not be brought into the stadium at re-entry.

Due to the heightened security, Texas Tech strongly advises fans to arrive early in order to avoid long delays. Fans who are not bringing items into the stadium will be directed to "Express Lanes" that will allow for easier access into Jones AT&T Stadium.

In efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for our patrons and others associated with home athletic events, Texas Tech will continue to monitor situations, and changes may be incorporated as necessary.

    Jones AT&T Stadium Policies - 2007

Stadium Entry: Only ticketed and credentialed individuals are permitted to enter Jones AT&T Stadium on game day.

Security Screening: All patrons will be subject to security screening by Event Staff and Law Enforcement Officers, including pat downs and inspection of all bags and other property, and may be refused entry for possessing restricted items. Additionally, disorderly behavior may result in ejection from the stadium and possible arrest. Security measures will be consistently reviewed and are subject to change as conditions warrant.

No one is allowed on the field after the game unless they have a purpose and credential to be there. Violators will be subject to possible penalties including judicial proceedings or loss of ticket privileges. Institutions have an affirmative obligation to structure local security and game management procedures to enforce conference standards.

Pass-outs are permitted at Jones AT&T Stadium. Patrons should exit through a main gate to receive a pass-out ticket. Items may not be brought into the stadium upon re-entry.

Jones AT&T Stadium is a smoke free facility. Those fans wishing to smoke should exit through one of the main gates, where they will receive a pass-out ticket. This pass-out ticket and ticket stub will be required for re-entry
