LUBBOCK, Texas - Josh Brady went 5-for-5 with six RBI and four runs scored and the Red Raider offense cranked out 23 hits and five home runs as Texas Tech defeated Campbell 19-4 on Friday afternoon at Dan Law Field.

Texas Tech (2-0) jumped out early again today as the Red Raiders took a 2-0 lead after one inning. Junior shortstop Cameron Blair led off the first with a double to left field and junior first baseman Josh Brady brought him home when he blasted a two-run home run over the left field wall.

The Red Raiders blasted Campbell (0-2) in the second as Tech put together a six-run inning thanks to six hits and two home runs. Josh Brady delivered his second straight home run when he hit a three-run shot over the left field wall while Josh Haney hit a two-run home run over the left-center field wall.

Tech kept pouring it on in the third as the offense pounded out five runs on five hits including a solo home run from junior Madison Edwards and a three-run home run from junior center fielder Michael Mask.

Tech upped its lead to 16-0 by scoring three runs in the fourth and fifth innings before Campbell put its first runs on the board in the top of the seventh. The Camels took advantage of a bad inning from the Tech bullpen as Campbell got four hits in the inning, including a solo home run from Mike Preist to lead off the frame.

The Red Raider offense responded by scoring three more runs in the seventh and eighth innings to make the final score 19-4.

Josh Brady led the Tech offense on the day as he was a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI and four runs scored. Dallas Braden (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Red Raiders as he went five innings allowing just two hits while striking out six. Rob Finch (0-1) suffered the loss for Campbell as he was tagged for nine earned runs and 10 hits in just two innings of work.

Texas Tech and Campbell will play the final game of the three-game series at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and the Red Raiders will try for a three-game sweep. The game time was moved from noon due to expected warmer temperatures later in the afternoon.
