MEDIA CREDENTIALS
Media members wishing to cover the Texas Tech baseball team at Dan Law Field during the 2007 season must be issued a working credential from the Texas Tech Athletic Media Relations office.
All requests for both media and photo credentials must be made in writing at least two days in advance to Blayne Beal, Associate Director of Athletic Media Relations. (Fax: (806) 742-1970; email: blayne.beal@ttu.edu)
Requests are honored from sports editors of daily and weekly newspapers, editors of sports periodicals, and sports directory of radio and television stations who broadcast regularly scheduled daily sports reports and talk shows.
Credentials can be picked up in the Athletic Media Relations Office (South End of Jones SBC Stadium) or at Will Call which is located at the main entrance to Dan Law Field.
PRESS BOX SERVICES
A complete NCAA boxscore, play-by-play and pertinent game facts will be distributed to members of the working media after the game.
Press packets are provided prior to first pitch or can be obtained earlier upon request.
A pre-game meal is served in the press box approximately 1 1/2 hours prior to game time.
MEDIA PARKING
A limited number of spaces are reserved in the main Dan Law Field parking lot for members of the media who are covering Texas Tech Baseball. Season parking passes will be issued prior to the start of the season and game-by-game passes will be distributed based up availability. Please contact Blayne Beal in the Texas Tech Media Relations Office to request media parking.
PHOTOGRAPHERS
Credentials for sideline photographers will be issued to working press on the basis of circulation with priority granted to agencies covering the participating schools on a regular basis. Texas Tech adheres to NCAA photography policies. Photographers are permitted on the baseball field but must remain within the marked areas behind the plate.
TELEPHONES
A limited number of courtesy telephone lines are available at Dan Law Field on a first-come, first-served basis. Notify Blayne Beal that you will need use of a phone. Those members that require a dedicated phone line should contact Judy Hunter at Communication Services (806-742-2000).
RADIO BOOTHS
Dan Law Field is equipped with two radio booths - one for Texas Tech and one for the visiting team. ISDN lines are available in each booth as well as a dedicated phone line. For information on the IDSN and phone lines, please contact Blayne Beal in the media relations office.
HEAD COACH INTERVIEWS
Head coach Larry Hays can be reached during business hours by calling his office. The best time to reach him is in the mornings. After noon, he can be reached at Dan Law Field at (806) 742-0340.
PLAYER INTERVIEWS
Players and coaches are available for interviews every day prior to the start of practice. Practice normally gets underway at 2:15 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with the exception of gamedays and travel days. Interviews will begin outside of the Texas Tech dugout at 1:45 p.m. and players and coaches will be available up until the time batting practice begins. The team will usually NOT practice on Wednesday, therefore, if a media member wishes to do something special and more time consuming, Wednesday, or the scheduled day-off during the week, is an ideal day for this. Contact Blayne Beal in the media relations office to set up a phone interview or a special request with a player.
PRACTICE
All practices are open to the media and the public. Practices will normally begin at 2:15 p.m. and end around 5:00 p.m. during the week. The normally scheduled "off day" is Wednesday.
LIVE TELEVISION
Television stations are welcome to conduct live interviews from Dan Law Field and the stadium can easily accomodate network game coverage. Live interviews will be conducted outside the fence overlooking right field and television trucks can be parked in that area. Please notify SID Blayne Beal at least 24 hours in advance at (806) 742-2770 for live television setup.
POSTGAME INTERVIEWS
The Texas Tech clubhouse is closed to the media. Texas Tech players and coaches will be made available in front of the Texas Tech dugout following a brief cooling off period.
