Texas Tech Academic Award Recipients
Academic All-America Teams - This is the most prestigious national student-athlete award presented by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Founded in 1952, the Academic All-America Teams program recognizes and awards our nation's premier college scholar-athletes for their ability to achieve excellence on the playing field and in the classroom.
CoSIDA selects these outstanding student-athletes annually from all Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions covering all NCAA championship sports. For each respective team selection, sports information directors nominate eligible student-athletes for Academic All-America Team honors. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have:
- A minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average on a 4.00 scale.
- A starter or key reserve position on a varsity athletic team.
- Reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution.
- Received a nomination by the athletic department's Sports Information Director.
- Must have been selected to their respective Academic All District first team.
CoSIDA also recognizes the top scholar-athlete of each Academic All America Team to be designated Academic All-America of the Year. This student-athlete has the distinction of being the top scholar-athlete in the nation for their respective sport.

Academic All-District Teams - Created in 1952 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the Academic All-District Teams program recognizes and awards our district's premier college student-athletes.
